Belchamp St Paul is a village and civil parish in Essex, England. It is located approximately west of Sudbury, Suffolk and is north-northeast from the county town of Chelmsford. It is near Belchamp Otten and Belchamp Walter. The village is in the district of Braintree and in the parliamentary constituency of Saffron Walden. The parish is part of the Stour Valley North parish cluster. Although it is in Essex, the website (www.suffolktouristguide.com ) lists it as part of Suffolk. It has a population of 331 (2001 census). The 16th-century poet, Arthur Golding, grew up at the manor. The ''Half Moon'' pub was the location for a number of pub scenes in the BBC drama series Lovejoy.〔(BBC Essex )〕 Belchamp St Paul is the scene of the climax of M.R.
